If you are craving a takeaway or just want to try something different then definitely give this recipe a go. The ingredients can be found in all big supermarkets and most smaller ones now too. This is showing you how to make it with minimal ingredients but maximum taste.

You will need

2 cloves of garlic

2 Onions

3 Carrots

4 Peppers

1 head of broccoli

Meat, this works well with any or none!

Soy sauce

Fish sauce

Optional – sweet chilli sauce or jam, ginger fresh or frozen, chilli fresh or frozen, mushrooms or any other veg.

Start by slicing the onions into circles and the carrots into batons, add them to a frying pan or wok with some oil. While they are cooking cut the peppers, broccoli and meat into strips and crush the garlic. When the carrot has begun to soften add the other veg and meat (the carrot takes longer to cook) and keep stirring.

Then add 75ml of soy sauce and 2 dashes of fish sauce. The fish sauce smells revolting, but don’t worry it doesn’t take like that! But it strangely takes the sauce to a new level of yumminess!

You can add in of the extra flavours but you don’t have to, it is delicious just like that. We eat this a lot, so it’s nice to slightly change it every so often with things that you have in the fridge and freezer for other things. There are great little pots of frozen herbs and things like garlic in the veg section of the supermarket that don’t take up lots of room and are handy for things like this. I also found frozen ginger pellets in the world food section of the freezer section, I add a couple into a recipe like this and it stops you having to have fresh ginger that often gets forgotten about and ends up looking like a twig in your fridge!

Enjoy it with rice or noodles.
