So this is it, our normal.
Gavin went off to work at 7am to oversea his three schools and help them work out how to navigate some choppy waters. I was wide awake by the time he left, despite trying to have a lie in.
I woke Sophie up at 8am as requested and we had a lovely breakfast together. We talked about her plan for the day and what else she wanted to do. I’m letting her be in control of her own schedule really.
We both did the 9am PE with Joe Wicks workout and smiled and laughed together, a brilliant way to start the day.
Off Sophie went to her room to start her work and I sat down at the computer. I think I got 1 thing done before “Mum, can you help me?” came down the stairs! I guess I’m lucky I got that one thing done!!!
That seemed to be the pattern for the morning. As soon as I sat back down at the computer, down came the call for help. Sometimes yelling from her bedroom, sometimes calling my phone! Oh well, if the Joe Wicks workouts don’t get me fit, all the running up and down the stairs will!
Gavin was home in time for lunch with the good news of very low numbers at all of the schools. Holly surfaced about that time too. We then made the most of the afternoon sunshine and they played volleyball and badminton while I read my book. Thank goodness for this sunshine!
I wasn’t sure if we’d do Kimberley’s Kitchen (my live cookalong with Sophie in the Inner Nourish Group) as that has now become Boris time for the nation. But he very considerately pushed his slot back to 8.30pm to allow me time to go ahead! We cooked Sophie’s favourite dinner, Turkey Rice, you can watch it here if you want to see.
A lovely chat with my brother and his family, rounded off the day well and then it was time to snuggle on the sofa and watch some great TV to relax. We survived!
Steps – 7000 ish
Glasses of wine – only 1 (very impressed with that!)
Smiles – lots
