27 October is National Chocolate Day. Yes really! Well according to @itsadayreally on Instagram it is!
Those of you that know me know I love chocolate. In most forms.
Cadburys are my fave, closely followed by Lindor and Hotel Chocolate. I love Costa Christmas hot chocolate, especially the ones with the chocolate lattice on the top! I like chocolate cake, and chocolate hobnobs are just amazing!
However, these are not great for the waistline or my general health! They are great for the soul and bring me joy and happiness when I am indulging. But too much of a good thing means greasy skin, tummy issues and weight gain. Then I fall out of love with chocolate!
So the answer to my dilemma was solved when I discovered chocolate protein powder. Not only can I have it for breakfast, but also bake with it to create amazing snacks that are nutritious, good for me, and great tasting.
So on National Chocolate Day I though I’d share a few of my favourite recipes. These have been collected from the people I follow on Instagram and Facebook, if you have an other suggestions, please comment below or tag me in a post.
I have adapted this recipe to make a great protein brownie. Instead of using cocoa powder, use chocolate protein powder and reduce the amount of maple syrup to the taste you prefer. The protein powder has stevia in it so you shouldn’t need as much maple syrup.

This is my go to brownie recipe, 3 ingredients and you are done!
And these make a great power ball recipe. Take a few in a tub to the gym, or enjoy after a run to refuel.
Hot chocolate on a cold winter’s evening? Here you go!

Cake in the microwave? In less than 5 mins? WOW! How?
1 scoop of chocolate protein powder, 2 tbsp. of egg white, 1 tbsp. of almond milk, 1 tbsp. of nut butter, stir for 30 seconds, microwave for 1 min!
Chocolate mousse for dipping fruit in, fancy that!

The picture shows quadrupled this single serving recipe
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 tbsp almond butter
1/8 tsp almond extract
Splashes of almond mild and blend until you get a smooth, dippable consistency.
And that is just the top of the iceberg! Search on pinterest or Instagram and you’ll find pages and pages of ideas.
I use Arbonne chocolate protein powder because it is made from pea and cranberry proteins. This vegan recipe, slightly sweetened with stevia makes it fully absorbable, vegan, dairy and gluten free. It is low GI and can contribute to a low cholesterol and regulate blood sugars. You can buy it here, or message me for more information.
